Focus and Scope

Journal of Qualitative Inquiry in Human Sciences (JQIHS) is an international peer-reviewed open-access journal dedicated to advancing qualitative research across the human sciences. The journal serves as a scholarly forum for studies that place human meaning, lived experience, culture, context, and social interaction at the center of scientific inquiry.

JQIHS welcomes original research articles, methodological contributions, qualitative systematic reviews, and meta-synthesis studies that advance theoretical, methodological, and practical understanding within qualitative inquiry. The journal encourages interdisciplinary dialogue and promotes innovative qualitative approaches that deepen understanding of human behavior, social interaction, cultural dynamics, and lived experiences in diverse social contexts.

The journal welcomes submissions in, but is not limited to, the following fields:

• Guidance and Counseling
  Multicultural counseling, cross-cultural counseling, indigenous counseling, counselor competencies, counseling intervention, and counseling practice.

Out of Scope

The following submissions are generally not considered for publication:

• Purely quantitative studies without a qualitative component.
• Opinion papers or essays lacking empirical evidence or systematic analysis.
• Technical reports without substantial qualitative interpretation.
• Studies that fall outside the human sciences and qualitative inquiry traditions.
• Research that does not demonstrate methodological rigor appropriate to qualitative inquiry.
